Several typical applications of SRC technology are as follows:
1. Query Disambiguation
When a query produces a range of perhaps even contradictory results, SRC technology can group the results according to the various senses of the query term.
Examples: jaguar, Saturn, apple
2. Displaying Subtopics
Many query terms contain subtopics, which SRC can easily display as clustered results.
Examples: data mining, Iraq, digital camera
3. Displaying Facts About People
When a query contains a person's name, SRC can find and display his or her affiliations, positions, and interests.
Examples: Bill Clinton, Dan Ling, Harry Shum, Ya-Qin Zhang
4. Displaying Relationships Among People
When a query contains the names of two or more people, SRC can find and display their relationships.
Examples: Ashlee Simpson, Jessica Simpson
5. Questions and Answers
When a query is a question, SRC can find the possible answers and display the most probable answer first.
Examples: Which is the largest ocean?, What is the world's hottest computer lab?, Who is the Chinese premier?
